Covid-19 Testing

COVID tests. These tests will be carried out on ASYMPTOMATIC workers, in case of carrying symptoms compatible with COVID-19.
There are various tests:

A) the tests that detect the presence of viruses in blood.
B) the so-called PCR
C) rapid detection test for virus surface antigens.

These tests will be prescribed by an ANGELS CARING doctor and will be carried out by our SYNLAB Reference Laboratory.
A) Antibody detection tests against the SARS COV-2 coronavirus. These serological tests are based on the indirect detection of the viruses, through the specific measurement of the antibodies generated by the body of the infected person. Serological tests can provide valuable information regarding an infection that is an active virus or a previous infection. It can therefore be a massive diagnostic tool, especially important in SARS-VOC-2, where there are a very high number of asymptomatic patients and the incubation period seems to indicate that it can last up to approximately 14 days before the onset of symptoms.

There are several ways to determine the antibodies:

– PCR-RT RNA CORONAVIRUS SARS COV-2, NASOPHARYNGEAL EXUDATE.

– QUICK DETECTION TEST OF ANTIBODY (Ac) IgG AND IgM (10-15 minutes)

– TEST FOR DETECTION OF SPECIFIC ANTIBODY IgA, IgM and IgG (24-36 hours)

B) In the case of PCR it is a test that detects the viral load at that time. It is considered the best choice for an accurate / early diagnosis.

The ANTIBODIES IgA and IgM can be detected in primary stages of infection, they begin to increase from the 5th day (between the 3rd and – 7th day) until days 8 to 14 and then they remain between days 15 to 21. IgG appears later: it begins to increase from day 8 to 14 and stabilises from day 15 to 21 (it would be the maximum level).

In order to carry out any of the tests, you will need to book an appointment and pay for them in advance.
